5 YouTube tips and tricks for beginners

YouTube is considered the second-largest search engine now and the prime channel for Digital Marketing.

It is a great way to share your videos with the world. But if you're new to YouTube, it can be a little overwhelming. There are so many options and settings, and it can be hard to know where to start.

Don't worry - we're here to help. In this article, we'll give you five tips and tricks for getting started on YouTube.

So if you're ready to start your YouTube journey, read on for our tips and tricks.

1. First, you'll need to choose a topic or niche for your channel.

This will help you determine the content you'll create and the audience you'll be targeting. Once you have a niche, you can start creating videos and promoting them on social media and other channels.

2. Choose Your Username Carefully

Your YouTube username is how people will find you on YouTube and refer to you in the comments. It's how people will connect with you and engage with your content, so it's important that your username is something that represents you well.

Think about what kind of message you want to send to your channel. Do you want to be known for your funny videos? Choose a username that reflects your sense of humor. Are you trying to brand yourself as an expert in a certain field? Use keywords in your username to let people know what kind of information they can expect from your channel.

You can change your username once, so if you're not sure what you want it to be, try a few different options and see what feels right. Just remember - once it's changed, you can't go back, so choose wisely!

3. Optimize Your Channel Icon And Cover Photo

Your channel icon is the small profile picture that appears next to your username on YouTube. Your cover photo is the large banner image that appears at the top of your YouTube Channel. Adding a personalized icon and cover photo is a fantastic way to increase your brand’s appearance and become more recognizable in users’ YouTube feed. Optimize your photos so that they taste like clickbait! Maybe add some crazy things, or directly ask people to subscribe. Hopefully, you draw some new viewers that may not have visited your channel before!

4. Create Playlists

As an example, I have a series on my YouTube channel called “The Journey Of Solo Artists” where I interview rising independent artists from all over the world who are looking for opportunities in music. After each video is completed, I store the videos in the appropriate playlists on my channel until we release them to our audience at predetermined times throughout the month.

By categorizing similar VIDEO CONTENT together with playlists, you give users other ways of discovering all of your content in one place instead of only having 1 direct link on social media sites and email marketers which require users to go off-site and search for related content manually as well as giving YouTube a general idea on the number of related playlists available.

If you don’t already have playlists created for your YouTube channel, don’t worry- I will talk about an easy way to make one just like in iTunes! (If you are still using iTunes and haven’t downloaded MediaMonkey yet, then do so NOW- it is miles ahead of iTunes as a media library manager).

5. Optimize Your Video Titles, Descriptions, And Tags

Your video title, description, and tags are some of the most important ranking factors on YouTube. YouTube is a search engine, and just like Google, the goal is to help people find the videos they're looking for.

Make sure to use your target keyword in your video title, description, and tags. This will help YouTube understand what your video is about and match it with the right people. You can also include other relevant keywords to help YouTube understand your video even better.

6. Bonus Tip - Use Annotations And Cards

Annotations and cards are a great way to add extra information to your videos. You can use them to promote other videos, playlists, websites, or products.

Cards are especially useful if you have a website or product that you want to promote. You can add a card to your video that will show
